we should start changing and helping the world cause the next generation is gonna dump this place like botany its to late to change that they should get rid off the port if the port wasnt there that would be tourist place well im talking about kurnell and then whaling should stop cause there lovely animals um take the refuges back to there own countries take all recycling and landfill places to the middle of no were we should rrr
get people to slow down plant more trees we shoild get more clean up australia days every 1 should have to have a water tank connected to their washing machines and guter plus drains. get kids to play out side more instead of on the computer and make australia a safer place to many muders and negative things happening in australia get rid of the priminister and i then student edge should take there buisness world wide! plus get rid off drugs there should be more earth hours like every month and more teen days and parent days so we get extra presents and go way brother and sister day so annoying siblings arent aloud near you and more cleaners and make shoppin centres eco like were u can purchase fruits and veggies but you have to pick it off the tree make our water cleaner grow our own gardens SAVES MONEY just pay for seeds plant them and eat them. they should make less takeway places for obbesse kids and make overweight people run and burn it off so they can injoy life more and live longer. they should also take cigars of the market or raise ciggerrets to like $200.00 a pack to stop people smoking. and more solar light on the street . and i could talk for heeps more well write but i better not.

People aim really high for certain things such as World Peace, Global Warming and No More violence but no one has ever thought that if there was a solution couldn't that solution start another problem. I think that everyone who comes up with ideas should really think about it's pros and cons. I believe that to gain World Peace you should do good every day to at least make little, tiny changes. Everyone who wants World Peace should do something nice for someone or help someone when the time arrives. And so those people which you helped would do the same causing a chain of goodness!

World peace is an impossible aim. There's always a bad egg in the batch to ruin the recipe. Let's say everyone in the world was in harmony all of a sudden, there would still be some people who want it to end.. even in a small society people naturally fight. So is that it, should we just give up on the whole world peace idea? I don't think so, I mean, if everyone in the world was just generally nicer to their neighbour, then everyones life would just be generally nicer. A smile to a random stranger never strays afar :)

allowing the youth of today to have a bigger say at national and international levels. At the moment there aren't any countries that are listening to what the younger generation are saying just because we're young. It's time for change and allowing the youth to help the world.

this is just a little thing, but i have noticed in australia compared to other countries our houses are so badly insilated against the heat and cold, we spend so much energy and money attempting to keep the houses cool in summer and warm in winter, look at england, their houses are climitaised to the cold, well our houses should also, its a waste of resources in the future if we do not

Hundreds of thousands of trees, plants, wildlife and insects are all destroyed each day in the amazon rainforest. Research says that a new species of plant is destroyed every second in the amazon. If we keep taking it away, who knows what any of those species could do? Imagine the possibility of discovering all the new medicinal and pharmacuetical properties of these plants. We could change the world with these discoveries; a cure for cancer? or a vaccination for numerous amounts of flu and disease? I have made it my career goal to study pharmacology at university and hopefully one day be able to conduct my own research and catalogue the species not yet known to us; to do my part to change the world. The answers we all long for could be out there, but we just don't know it yet.

I believe that the modelling industry should stop portraying the ideal size as zero and become realistic! Girls are being sold a fantasy in which does not reflect their own size nor those of most of the females around them. No wonder so many girls have low self esteem and eating disorders! The government can ban alcohol advertising yet haven’t even blinked an eye at the epidemic that is fuelling teenagers to engage in a false material world!

Even though their are many other people that might disagree or think that this issue is not as important as others but in my opinion to make the world a better place, there shouldn't be world leaders, leaders make the decisions regardless of what the people think, they may say that we voted this person in but who knows? It could be a conspiracy, in my opinion there should be a system where EVERYONE gets there say, not just the rich and famous and influential people.

I think to make this world a better place we should start detaching ourselves from money. I think every problem that we have today is rooted from MONEY! Well, for instance, climate change, we will not experience climate change if we are not going to abuse the environment just to earn MONEY!, second, FRAUDS in the business that affect the whole world through GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS.
We should not let money enslave us! Detach ourselves, material things cannot surpass the amount of hapiness that intagible things could give (e.g love).....

I think they should teach manners and common courtesy in primary school. Too many people just don't have a clue about the words "please" and "thank you".
I urge you all to use the words (with sincerity) and look at the positive reactions you get from the people around you.

(my opinion), well it will sound retarded but i think we should melt down all the cars in the world and reshape them into scooters. Then we conect 4 scooters together like a box with them round the edges. Then put plywood in between put all the crap on top with rop making sure it will stay in shape. We can't just think about murderous people and crime, we have to think about the poverty in our world and enviromental problems.
There is enough grain in the world to give every family 2 loafs of bread a day but still we have countries that have families that starve everyday and survive on contaminated water and any food they can find.
We just all need to consider other people before we decide to chuch away half a burger and think about what that half a burger would do for someone else who dosen't have the resources we have.
It wouldn't hurt you to donate 2 dollars now and then compared to other we have it pretty good

I really think that people who are in dealings with murderous and abusive crimes should stop. Also more and more people should start thinking about the natural disasters. Their are alot of people in this world who are dieing and lossing all that they have worked for. The government should also show sympathy for single mothers and shelters for people who are homeless. People shoule get more envolved insted of doing the opposite and do nothing.

people generally need to be more socially aware, of their environment and the people and things living in it. Im a vegetarian and Im constantly asked why; I respond with "because I care about the environment" and it kills me that people argue or question my passion. People have become so self obessessed, its not about our world its about theirs. Im also really passionate about ending poverty, right now im actively involved in world vision. I just believe if people opened their eyes and observe what is going on around them, instead of having tunnel vision. We can all together in one world, our world; that we share.

To change the world, less killing and suffering of animals. everytime a mum animal dies, the child is left to suffer without a mum/dad. imagine living your growing up life without a mum or father or maybe both. you grab the chickens legs and cut its neck than burn it and leaving it to die is just to miserable to see for a human pair of eyes.

we all say that it is important to change things on a larger scale, whether it be world poverty and hunger or emissions to make other happier. Sometimes, when we honestly want to make a difference, maybe we should just try to stop and look at ourselves and see how we can change as an individual, because that is truly where everything starts. If we first admit that we are imperfect and begin to change ourselves, this chain will go on. If ew realise that our actions are wrong we learn to give rather than take, we learn to apologize for the little things and be a bit more courteous then things will begin to change, initially within our immediate surroundings then later in a larger proximity. What we don't notice is that when we are happier than others are too. So maybe we should start working changes on ourselves first for the better (:

I agree about stopping smoking however we need a strategy to accomplish this because we don't want cigarettes to become illicit drugs. What we should do is make the government put smokers on strict regimes to break their addictions and give everybody a time-limit, let's say 6 monthes, for the tobacco industry to make its move and for the smoker's to stop being nicotine dependent. Try to get people to you objects that can get you places with out using fuel or any other things like that try to get every one to ride bike or if they have to go long distances then they take trains or bus so its i ride instead of 12 or 13 rides so thats how i would try to change the would..

it's hardly MY idea but I believe the movie pay it forward had the right idea! The idea that someone does three inceridbly nice things to someone for no particular reason, then they have to do 3 nice things and so on. the world would slowly but surely become a better place :)

Well there are two ways bad things in the world effect us, this effect can be anyway, economically, socially and environmentally. The two things that causes it are natural and human with processes. With natural processors we can raise awareness and pressure governments till our rights can be heard. And what damages society these days ? The increase of drug use, smoking of alcohol in young people. Everyone is born the same but its the experiences that change people. In order for us to help people, is seek help for them to as why they take it and harsher penalties. We can't stop whats being done in the world like poverty, dosmestic violence, sexual abuse etc. We cant change the past but we can change the future, with more organizations out there to help young people and more awareness.

As a nation we can make the place a better place by just doing simple things like helping around in the community, donating to the poor,living green, appreciating other peoples achievements and helping a neighbour.We can get active and play for a local sport team or in an organization, we can raise awareness about animal cruelty and helping health organizations or hospital, we can try to stop violence, we can comfort others and try creating a healthier place for us to live in.Simple things count and working together is all we need to make the world a better place.

Try to make everyone listen to the words of God and Stop World Poverty. Make Smoking Illegal because I don't want to die from other peoples smoke making me very ill. Sometimes I just feel like taking someone's cigarette out of their mouth, placing it on the ground, putting my shoe on top of it and smothering it into the ground while making them watch.

END POVERTY!!!! HAVE WORLD PEACE!!!! STOP GLOBL WARMING!!! If only it was that simple, The world currently is in a very sorry state. There people out there that do not have acsess to basic nessities, People are getting killed over wars and our world is gradually heating up. Though i wrote those problems in a few sentances it will take millions of people to make a actual difference. I think artists should have more concerts with all funds going towards a certain cause, I think everyone should do their bit and recycle and possibly donate, Sponsor a child, Get a raintank, I think those in a position of high power should help those in need and thats a long list -Third World Countries -Medical Facilities -Animals eg. whales - The Environment and much more. Thats alot to accomplish but if everyone does there bit by donating- even a dollar can help, recycling and maybe turning of the tap when your cleaning your teeth it will help the world o make it a better plave for when we grow up.

I want to create an international "LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR DAY" where each person in the world has to do nice things to everyone for a whole day and not swear (they have to use swear jars too btw) and everyone has to donate some money on that day to help people in abusive situations and who are living under poor circumstances such as victims of child abuse. Could you imagine how amazing a place the world would be? And could you imagine how much money we would raise for those in need?! My dear golly gosh!

There's all these people in poverty stricken countries with no water, there are heaps of places in the world where the average yearly rainfall reaches 500+ inches. why don't we all donate money towards getting heaps of rain water tanks for the soul purpose of supplying clean healthy drinking water for these unfortunate countries?

I emigrated to OZ 5 yrs ago and was first overwhelmed by the acceptance of multiculturalism.being of parents of two different races ,this seemed a heaven on earth.But in my 1st year at primary school(yr 7} i experienced terrible racism and bullying which turned physical. this onslaught continued into high school and the heads of the schools,police and dept of education did nothing to help or stop this!.I was one of the most popular kids at school excelling in academic and sport and this further aggravated the bullies.(main ones were english and S.African}.I have family in both countries so i know that all people are not the same but the impact of it caused me to become very ill where I was unable to attend school and so missed out on my high school years(robbed of the opportunity as one of the best academically]the end of yr ball and leavers. I am brought up in a christian home so never felt comfortable with fighting and swearing at them. but this all accepting attitude has been to my detriment both physically and emotionally. i urge bullies to STOP,THINK and REFRAIN from your behaviour as you rob the victims in more ways than one.Think-your kids may be victims as well. What then? you rob kids of their innocence in youth and permanently put them in chains. we need to lobby together to STOP THIS ATROCITY because it cripples the mind,soul,body when it is severe. We lose our childhood innocence of feeling protected.God intended for us to be a harmonious race .They have driven a lot of children to suicide so we HAVE TO DO SOMETHING NOW to stop further victims.STUDENT EDGE is a commmunity in a way promoting positive things so maybe each of us a smembers can make a concerted effort to stand up and fight this terrible DISEASE of bullying.

Hello everyone out there reading this.
There are several things that are currently effecting the Earth and everyone on it. These things are: war, poverty, racism and global warming. Many of of us don't see this but they are all linked in many ways.
In order to fight global warming sufficiently it will take every individual in the world. If we can not learn to work with each other as one world then there is no hope of us over coming the fight to save our Earth. That is why my idea for changing the world is to join nations and declare world peace. I think all the leaders in the world should frequently meet up and discuss the big picture.
I really believe that if we look at each other as humans, other than by our race, then there should be no reason for war, which makes less poverty and more co-operation in becoming greener.

I have read many of the comments and they all have a positive opinion however mankind on its own will never solve all our problems on a GLOBAL scale. Even though there are many who prove to genuine there are still those who will continue to be greedy and corrupt. Many scoff at the message held in the bible yet you would be very surprised at its value for us today. Eg If EVERYONE applied the 'golden rule' ( "love your neighbour as yourself" - Matt 22:39 and "All things that you want men to do to you, you also must likewise do to them" - Matt 7:12) imagine how much better the world would be! This immediately erradicates selfishness, poverty, war and the list goes on. There are many other principles found in the bible that can be of benefit if applied. Give it a go, it may take you by surprise.

With global warming we cant really do anything to stop it because its just a cycle the planet goes through and we just gotta put up with it, we can try and cut down green house emmisons but its not really make a big effect on the situation

A lot of people try to think of ways to make the world a better place. It's awsome and kind to try but the truth is that we can't change the whole world. But we can change ourselves and change the world. Do good things that people don't expect. My idea to change the world is for people do sumthing good and unexpected, to good goals and to reach for them and do things good and amazing to get what you want. Don't walk over people to get your goals because if you do, eventually your goals will seem so much less worth it if you use people to get it and you will always look back with regreat and wish you'd done it differently. So be the very best you can be and remember that you are special and unique.

Global warming is fast approaching and I want to be the one to say "hey this is actually happening and the effects will be devestating" but also I especailly want to be the one to do something about it! All I want is for everyone - that it is the entire 6,706,993,152 world population to for once take it into their own hands to turn of the light, fix the leaking tap and walk the few km to work. I want the leaders of our countries to do rather than say,the businesses to think rather about our environment, our home rather than they pockets and if we succeded in this, we could save this wonderful planet!!

i think to change the world people should be educated into being more open minded and accepting others for who they are and not mocking people because they are different or have different opinions. If more people are open minded then we can "give peace a chance" :)

I think that we should revolutionize the solar panel. Right now the modern day solar panel only picks up the red rays from the sun & the visible spectrum, but what if there was a solar panel that picked up all the colors of the visible spectrum. e.g. blue, yellow, green, indigo, etc.
To further modernize this solar panel, you could use the same engine that a satellite uses, this could also increase the efficiency of the modern day solar panel.
